Once again, you can’t make this stuff up. Now we have a Cape Cod school district with a recently-passed policy that allows elementary school students to receive free condoms. Honest. And, no, it needn’t involve the permission of parents. Even Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has been weighing in as an agent of comment sense and a Cape Codpeace-maker.
Superintendent Beth Singer, however, has retorts and rationales at the ready. “The intent is to protect kids,” she told the Boston Globe. “We know that sexual experimentation is not limited to an age, so how does one put an age on it?”
Well, try. And the age of children in elementary school would be a prudent place to start. This is way beyond permissive. This is imbecilic.
