Among standard primary dynamics is the “undecided” vote. It’s right up there with “turnout” and “expectations” in pundit talk. So, where will those undecideds wind up on election day?
It begs a question. After the better part of a year of candidate positioning and several months of saturation campaigning, how do you stay “undecided” until days–or minutes–before voting? Were you tuned out until yesterday? Is there cachet in “undecidedness”? Or is there subliminal hope that a network focus group will come calling?
