Can’t say that the family of Ahmed Mohamed, the Texas “clock kid” who was falsely arrested for a homemade clock that was mistaken for a bomb–hasn’t learned a thing or two about “American exceptionalism.”
While their son, who was a well-chronicled victim of terrorist-threat overreaction, was invited to the White House last month and became the recipient of waves of sympathy, the parents went to the legal mattresses. Lawyers for the 14-year-old are demanding $10 million from the city of Irving and $5 million from the Irving Independent School District.
The family is currently residing in Qatar.
