If this were a student council election, we would get it.
The wildly flamboyant rich kid is running for president and promises that the football team will return to greatness, the prom will be streamed live everywhere that matters, the cafeteria will feature deep-dish pizza every day, the principal will be served notice and losers, lightweights and outsiders can take a hike.
But this is a U.S. presidential election and Donald Trump is officially running. He really is.
It’s one thing to look askance at the Lincoln Chafees and the Rick Santorums. But an in-your-face, arrogant, self-important political streaker? Surely, America–even this politically dysfunctional, divisive version–deserves better. Surely.
