Once again, a major shout-out to the City of Tampa’s Department of Solid Waste for its thorough, rapid-response, post-Gasparilla Parade clean-up. It began directly after the parade and continued well past midnight. Plaudits also to the Tampa Bay Green Consortium volunteers who picked up along the shoreline and Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, which distributed 200 recycling bins along the parade route.
As for those responsible for the littering of beer cans, beer bottles, cigar butts, chicken bones, beads and plastic (indeed) syringes: Too bad we couldn’t deposit you in a recycling bin.
