University of Tampa officials will be dedicating UT’s new, Kennedy Boulevard-fronting, lacrosse stadium early next month. Construction has taken a little longer than expected, but the facility is expected to be ready for the team’s final home game. One stadium detail, however, will go unaddressed. The stands are not on the Kennedy side. Instead there is a 60-foot-high net to prevent lacrosse balls from flying into traffic. It’s functional but really cheesy looking and unworthy of all that UT has been contributing to the renaissance of the entrance into downtown.
