Country First For A Change

We keep hearing about how “frightening” it is for Republican congressional candidates to be at odds with their party’s primary-dominating, hard-core conservatives. Not to sound naive, but so what? How about taking one–budget, guns, infrastructure, foreign policy–for the Team, your country, not your angriest, most activist constituents?

And if it costs you a re-election? Well, go back to practicing law, become a political consultant or join the ranks of lobbyists. By the way, according to the Center for Responsible Politics, there are now 373 former House and Senate members currently employed as lobbyists.
