Imagine if you were a hockey fan with kids going to public school–and you lived in Chicago and had been laid off. In this ongoing, jobs-challenged economy, you just weathered a teachers’ strike and now the Blackhawks are part of a National Hockey League lockout. Ostensibly compelling issues notwithstanding, with too many people still looking for work and too few companies re-hiring, the juxtaposition is insultingly obscene.
