Higher Ed Shout Outs

With so much about higher education involving budget cuts and legislative machinations, it was more than welcome to see the good news that USF has now officially leaped into the top 50 in research rankings. USF now ranks 50th on the National Science Foundation list with $385 million in research grants. It reaffirms that USF is a national player–with research ranging from immune diseases, such as Type 1 diabetes, to Alzheimer’s to oil-spill impact.

Also adding some prestige was the University of Tampa, which made the 2013 edition of The Princeton Review’s compilation of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education.  Approximately 15 percent of the country’s four-year colleges (public and private) make it.
