Let’s see if we have this right. Presidential primaries are important because they parcel out delegates who will help determine who will become one of the two people vying for the most powerful office in the world. Some states, including Maine, choose the more participatory- gathering caucus route.
Last Saturday Mitt Romney officially won the week-long Maine caucus with 39 percent of the vote. Ron Paul was close behind at 36 percent. But only 84 percent of the state’s precincts were counted. Some decided not to participate, and some were late and consequently uncounted.
That’s the way it goes in Maine.
