Once again it’s nearly time for the Hillsborough County School District and the Hillsborough Education Foundation to name its “Teacher of the Year.” The choice among five finalists will be announced Feb. 16.
And once again the competition encompasses all grade levels, K-12. The finalists are three elementary teachers, one middle and one high school. To do this honor justice, there needs to be more than a single “winner,” unless the school district and the HEF truly believe they are evaluating comparable skills in identical contexts.
