Not that the White House and Congress should be soliciting PR help from the Tampa Bay Lightning, but it may seriously want to consider a theme the Bolts used successfully this past season: “All In.”
As Americans, we’re all stakeholders. This is everybody’s debt crisis and everybody’s vested interests on the line. From retirees and their government entitlements to hedge fund managers and their bonus entitlements.
Call it a contemporary economic parallel to “victory gardens” and gas rationing during World War II. You benefit from living here, you ante up. Your country needs your support, not your party partisanship and ideological pandering.
This really shouldn’t be a choice. Any more than brinksmanship and default should be considered viable choices.
Imagine not being “All In” in a time of crisis. Lamentably, it’s too real to merely imagine.
