Teachable moment. The five-county St. Petersburg Catholic Diocese now knows that when a film maker comes calling about using one of your parochial schools, albeit one that closed in 2012, for a movie location, it would only be prudent to read the script before striking any deal. It wasn’t done in the case of Sex Ed, which was partly filmed at Sacred Heart Academy in Tampa. And now the diocese is embarrassed and Bishop Robert Lynch is “mortified.”
This shouldn’t have to be said: Even if the film’s title were Mr. Ed, you read the script. But Sex Ed?
