Over the next few years, the Tampa Port Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be looking at feasibility studies for the possible accommodation of mega cruise liners that won’t fit under the Sunshine Skyway bridge.
The end result could be an economic boost–or an ecological disaster. We’re talking serious jobs and significant economic impact. But we’re also talking mangroves, salt marshes and pristine beaches, which also impact the economy. Both sides will have their high-profile spokespersons.
Imagine if one of those sides were to be represented by Roger Stewart. What Would Roger Say? Yes, that’s a rhetorical question.
We still miss you, Roger, even if the developers, phosphate mines and electric companies don’t. RIP.
