The University of South Florida broke ground this week on its $50 million USF Health Heart Institute. It’s a big deal, one that will bring together advanced research and technology with state-of-the-art cardiovascular care to benefit patients with heart disease, diabetes and stroke. Among the speakers: President Judy Genshaft, to be sure; Hillsborough County Commission Chairman Mark Sharpe, to be sure; and Speaker of the Florida House of Representative Will Weatherford, to be seen.
