We are not witnessing, to be sure, democracy’s finest hour in this state. What currently passes for primary campaigns for Florida’s most high-profile offices–governor and U.S. senator– are an embarrassment. It actually gives negative campaigning a bad name. Too much money. Too much mud. Too little credentials. Too little class. “None of the above” has never looked so appealing.
Anybody else reminiscing about Jeb! and Bill, Betty and Mel? Nostalgic for that “classy” Katherine Harris campaign? That was then. This is not even close.
